It’s not zip lining, it’s not rock climbing, it’s RAPPELLING. Rappelling is a controlled descent down a rock face (in this case a waterfall) using a rope. This once in a lifetime experience is a thrilling way to get up close and personal with one of Kauai’s most popular natural attractions. Waterfall Rappel Details

This guided rappel tour departs from Da Life Outdoor Gear shop (next to Duke’s). A 10-minute van ride will take you to our scenic rappel training area. After a detailed rappel safety lesson, and a practice run on the dry wall, we’ll hike to secluded waterfalls. Our first rappel is the cascading 30’ Bamboo Falls, followed by the towering 60’ Papakolea Falls. This intimate, small group tour is a thriller for sure. Come walk on water with Da Life Outdoors!

Check-In Times: 8:15am Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Saturday

Duration: Approximately 4 hours.

Price: $185 plus $29.07 in taxes and fees (Sales tax, DLNR,  Special use permits)

Spectator price: $87 plus $13.67 (Sales tax, DLNR,  Special use permits)

A portion of all ticket sales are donated to the Hule’ia National Wildlife Refuge for ongoing conservation efforts.

Includes: Harness, helmet, rappel shoes, dry bag, snacks, water and juice.

To Bring: Fitted tops, sunblock, bug spray, towel, camera, light jacket in winter months.

Kauai Waterfall Rappel Restrictions:

  • Must weigh between 70 lbs. and 250 lbs.

  • Must have a waist measurement between 22 and 48 inches.

  • Minimum age of 12 years old; not recommended for those over 65.

  • This tour is not appropriate for people with back problems, recent surgeries, bone/joint problems, heart conditions, or women who are pregnant.

  • This activity is intended for participants who are physically fit and enjoy rugged activities.
